The Kansai region of Japan has ancient cities such as Kyoto and Nara, where are ancient temples and shrines suitable for sightseeing.
There are many misunderstandings by foreigners and even local people, but the history of these cities is newer than that of Osaka. When Prince Shotoku built Shitennoji in Osaka in 593, Kyoto and Nara were still wild.
One of the reasons for this image is that there are few old buildings in Osaka, and modern buildings are more prominent. Osaka was destroyed in the Second World War and the city disappeared.
Kyoto was not destroyed in the war, only because it was candidate for the atomic bomb. Many buildings of the 8th century still exist there and fascinate us. Imagine that they were all destroyed.
I don’t want to blame USA which is now an important friend of Japan.
Peace is absolutely precious.
